So what's news?

Well, for some reason I haven't written for ages, basically because not a lot has happened.
James left yesterday to go back to America. On Tuesday night we had a BBQ for him (which he demanded), having had a surprise BBQ for him on Saturday night as well! Trying to organise both of them was quite interesting, which was left to me as both of them were at my house. We got him an England shirt with his name on the back, which he really loved, and promised to wear when he gets back.
As term has finished I have no more supply work, which gives me time to work on stuff for camp, which I am getting round to slowly.
Football news: Argyle are playing Real Madrid in a friendly in Austria tomorrow, which is really cool - I just wish I was there to watch it!
A couple of fab players have extended their contracts, which is fab, and we've got a couple of new signings, who I will comment on when I get to see them play.
So don't think there is much other news. So what's news with you?

Supply and demand!

Have just finished a full day's supply teaching at the school I did my last placement at. I also got called in to do a couple of afternoons as well this week, and have also been booked in for next week. My bank manager might be slightly happier with me now, and I might actually be able to afford the full amount for camp, and also the bills for repairs to my little car.
It has to be said I was majorly worried about how much money I would have over this summer, and if I would be able to afford to go to camp, and if I could pay to have my car fixed. However, as James said to me "the Lord will provide", and the Lord has provided, and I am extremely grateful.
I have now worked out that I have spent time in every year in Key Stages 1 and 2 now, which is a cool thing to say, when I only started training in September.
Supply teaching is soo cool - you just turn up on the day, get told what to teach, teach it, mark any work, and then leave. There's none of this major hassle like proper lesson planning, med and long term planning etc that you do for normal teaching. I love it! (I give it a couple of weeks - then I'll be saying I hate it!)

Penalties, penalties, penalties!

Ok so England lost to Portugal on penalties. Slight sense of déjà vu anyone? Why can't England win a blinking penalty shoot out? They need the coaches that Liverpool have as Liverpool can win penalty shoot outs. I'm not blaming any of the penalty takers, or Paul Robbinson, becasue it's not their fault. If the coach had chosen the right squad, and included some fit strikers, then we might have won the game. Also had flipping Christinao Ronaldo not got Wayne Rooney sent off, then who knows what would have happened. The ref wasn't going to send Wayne off until Ronaldo got involved. If he comes back to Man U - man the first training season will be fun, plus he will get the reception he deserves at most away games next season - particularly at Anfield!
Ah well that's the World Cup done for another 4 years. Bring on 2010 under Steve McClaren.
